The logo of the Cultural Center of Art & Letters “Niki Papatheochari” has been designed to capture the essence of the two core elements in the works of Mrs. Niki Papatheochari: stone-carving painting and poetry.

The artist Niki Papatheochari creates stone compositions (mainly from sea stones), predominantly anthropocentric. Her works consist of individual parts that are carefully assembled and finally painted in detail, forming a clear depiction of the subject as a whole. Each of her works is accompanied by a poem (written by herself), a feature that enhances both the artwork and the poem itself, as they interact and enrich the viewer–reader’s complete experience.

The abstract form (the logo mark) suggests a human figure in motion, symbolizing creative expression and the connection of body and spirit.

The figure is composed of three elements stacked one over the other, thus reinforcing the structural dimension of stone-carving painting. The legs form part of the typographic character “O,” while the middle section, reminiscent of arms, is derived from the form of the circumflex accent (as a punctuation mark), strengthening the connection between word and art. At the same time, it creates a sense of harmony, artistic flow, and dynamic evolution.
The composition recalls the relief style of petroglyphic works, alluding to the distinctive technique the artist employs. The discreet comma (,) at the top, serving as the head, completes the form of the human figure, while simultaneously acting as a symbolic reference to the written word, highlighting the importance of language, poetry, and narration, core elements of the creator’s work.

The choice of serif typography lends a “poetic” character to the logo, while the black color symbolizes seriousness and art, and the blue conveys spirituality, inspiration, and Greek identity, while also maintaining the essential connection with the artist’s favorite element – the sea.
